Terms of Use

Effective Date: January 8, 2025

Welcome to NexaGen Portal. By accessing our website at nexagenportal.com and using our financial modeling education services, you're agreeing to these terms. We've tried to keep things straightforward, but financial education platforms need clear boundaries.

These terms apply to all users of our platform, whether you're browsing course offerings or actively enrolled in our financial modeling programs. If something here doesn't sit right with you, please reach out before you continue using our services.

1. Account Registration and Access

Creating an account with us means you're responsible for keeping your login details secure. We've seen too many cases where shared credentials lead to messy situations with course progress and certification records.

Account Requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years old or have guardian consent to register
  • Information you provide during registration needs to be accurate and current
  • One account per person - sharing accounts messes with our learning analytics and your progress tracking
  • You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in activities that compromise platform integrity. This isn't something we enjoy doing, but educational standards matter.

2. Educational Services and Course Content

Our financial modeling courses are designed for analysts and finance professionals looking to strengthen their technical skills. What you see in course descriptions is what you'll get, though we occasionally update materials to reflect current market practices.

Course Access and Enrollment

  • Course access begins immediately upon enrollment confirmation and payment processing
  • Most courses offer 12 months of access from enrollment date unless otherwise specified
  • Course materials are for personal educational use only and cannot be redistributed
  • We update content periodically to reflect current financial modeling best practices
  • Technical requirements for accessing courses are listed on individual course pages

Some courses have prerequisites. We list these clearly because jumping into advanced DCF modeling without understanding basic financial statements wastes everyone's time. If you're unsure whether a course fits your level, contact our team before enrolling.

3. Payment Terms and Refund Policy

All course fees are listed in Malaysian Ringgit and must be paid in full before access is granted. We accept major credit cards and select digital payment methods available in Malaysia.

Refund Conditions

We offer a 14-day refund window from enrollment date if you've accessed less than 20% of course content. After that point, refunds aren't available. This policy exists because our courses involve significant instructor time and platform resources.

Refund requests require written notice to help@nexagenportal.com with your account details and reason for withdrawal. Processing typically takes 7-10 business days. We're not trying to make this difficult, but we need to verify access logs and prevent abuse.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All course materials, including video lectures, financial models, case studies, and documentation, belong to NexaGen Portal. Enrollment gives you a personal, non-transferable license to access these materials for learning purposes.

  • You cannot record, copy, or redistribute course videos or materials
  • Financial models provided as templates are for educational practice, not commercial redistribution
  • Screenshots and excerpts for personal notes are acceptable, but bulk copying isn't
  • Sharing your login credentials with others violates this agreement
  • Course certificates are issued to registered students only and cannot be transferred

We've built these courses through years of professional experience. Protecting this content ensures we can continue developing quality educational resources for the financial analyst community.

5. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

Our platform works best when everyone respects the learning environment. We've created community guidelines that keep discussions productive and focused on financial modeling education.

Specifically Prohibited Actions

  • Attempting to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise platform security
  • Using automated tools to scrape or download course content
  • Harassing instructors or other students through platform messaging
  • Posting spam, irrelevant content, or promotional material in discussion forums
  • Impersonating other users, instructors, or NexaGen Portal staff
  • Sharing false information that could mislead other learners

Violations result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination depending on severity. We'd rather spend time teaching than policing behavior, so please keep things professional.

6. Disclaimers and Limitations

Our courses teach financial modeling techniques used by professional analysts. But let's be clear about what we don't provide: we're not offering investment advice, guaranteed career outcomes, or certification that replaces professional licensing requirements.

Educational Scope

The financial models and case studies in our courses use hypothetical scenarios or publicly available historical data. Real-world application of these techniques requires professional judgment, current market knowledge, and compliance with relevant regulations in your jurisdiction.

While our instructors bring extensive industry experience, course content reflects educational best practices rather than specific investment recommendations. What works in a training environment may need adaptation for your specific professional context.

Career Outcomes

We've seen students advance their careers after completing our programs, but we can't guarantee employment, promotions, or salary increases. Your professional success depends on many factors beyond technical skills, including market conditions, your experience level, and how you apply what you've learned.

7. Technical Requirements and Platform Availability

Our platform runs on standard web browsers and doesn't require specialized software beyond Excel or compatible spreadsheet applications for financial modeling exercises. We test on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

While we maintain 99% uptime as our target, scheduled maintenance and unexpected technical issues occasionally occur. We announce planned downtime at least 48 hours in advance through email notifications.

Internet connectivity requirements vary by course format. Video lectures stream at multiple quality levels, but you'll need consistent bandwidth for live workshop sessions. Download options exist for most video content if you have connection reliability concerns.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

We collect information necessary to provide educational services: your contact details, course enrollment records, progress data, and platform usage analytics. This information helps us improve courses and provide relevant support.

Your financial modeling work, discussion forum posts, and assignment submissions remain associated with your account. We don't sell student data to third parties, though we use analytics tools that may process aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

For detailed information about data handling practices, see our Privacy Policy. Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act governs how we manage information for students in our primary market.

9. Modifications to Terms and Services

We update these terms occasionally to reflect new features, legal requirements, or operational changes. When significant modifications occur, we'll notify active users via email at least 30 days before changes take effect.

Continued use of the platform after modifications become effective means you accept the updated terms. If changes aren't acceptable to you, contact us about account closure and any applicable refunds based on unused course access.

Course content, pricing, and available programs may change as we develop new offerings or retire outdated materials. Students enrolled in specific courses maintain access according to their enrollment terms, even if we later modify or discontinue that course for new enrollments.

10. Termination and Account Closure

You can close your account anytime by contacting our support team. Keep in mind that account closure means losing access to enrolled courses and any associated progress or certificates.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for terms violations, fraudulent activity, or behavior that disrupts the learning environment for others. In cases of serious violations, termination may be immediate without refund.

Upon account termination, your access to course materials ends immediately. Certificates already earned remain valid, but you cannot access the platform to retrieve them after closure. Download certificates before requesting account termination.

11. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These terms are governed by Malaysian law, given our registration and primary operations in Johor. For most issues, we prefer working directly with students to find reasonable solutions before involving legal processes.

If disputes arise that we can't resolve through direct communication, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing litigation. This approach tends to produce faster, more satisfactory outcomes than court proceedings for educational service disagreements.

Any legal action related to these terms must be brought in Malaysian courts. This isn't meant to prevent legitimate complaints but to establish clear jurisdiction given our location and operational base.

Questions About These Terms?

If something in these terms needs clarification, or if you're unsure how a provision applies to your situation, contact our team. We'd rather explain things clearly now than deal with confusion later.
